Chipping Campden is receiving the official London 2012 Flag to fly in the town as part of the nationwide Beijing-London handover celebrations from Sunday 24 August 2008 onwards.
The Secretary of the Robert Dover's Games Society Dr Francis Burns will hand over the flag to the Mayor of Chipping Campden, Chris Jones, in a ceremony in Chipping Campden Town Square at 1600 on 24 August . He will invoke the spirit of Robert Dover (embodied in period costume by Father John Brennan) to witness the raising of the flag, as the next chapter of Campden's involvement in the British Olympic movement.

In mounting their bid for the 2012 Olympics the British Olympic Association referred to Dover's Games as "the first stirring of Britain's Olympic beginnings"

Robert Dover's Cotswold Olimpick Games.
